Eunice Margaret Chapman was the youngest child of Newton White Chapman and Frances Louisa Shaffer and was born on July 1, 1890. Both of her parents died in 1908 of influenza. By 1910, she was working as a telephone operator and living with Augustus and Edith H. Junge, one of the sons of the owner of Junge Bakery. The September after her graduation from High School in 1910, she took a teaching position in Scotland, Jasper County, Missouri where she met her husband, Thaddeus Sobieski Snyder. Her friends and family were surprised at the quick marriage when took place at her brother's, Frank, home in Joplin, Missouri on December 24, 1910, with Thaddeus' uncle, M. Patrick performed the marriage ceremony. They left to work a farm in Miami, Ottawa, Oklahoma. Eunice and Thaddeus had four children: Thad Allen, Caroline Louise, Martha Annabelle, and Margaret Eunice. On September 7, 1942, Thaddeus died. She died on July 12, 1963 in Miami, Ottawa, Oklahoma and is buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin, Missouri.
