Thaddeus Sobieski Snyder was born on September 22, 1880 to Oscar Augustus Snyder and Tennessee Ozark Scott.  He was the younger brother of John Charles.  When his father and mother separated, he moved with his mother to Carthage.  After his mother's death, he lived with father on the Whitney Farm in Scotland, Jasper, Missouri.  The Whitney Farm had been inherited by his paternal grandmother, Caroline Louise Whitney.  Thaddeus married first Surilda Armeda Colllings on December 30, 1902.  She, as well as their infant, died on November 9, 1903.  He married second, Eunice Margaret Chapman, on December 24, 1910.  They had four children:  Thad Allen, Caroline Louise, Margaret Annabelle, and Margaret Eunice.  He died on September 7, 1942 in Quapaw, Quapaw, Oklahoma and is buried in Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin, Jasper, Missouri.
